Christian Snedeker

 

Christian Snedeker is a percussionist, educator, and composer based out of Orlando, Florida, and is currently in his last year earning his Bachelor’s in Percussion Performance from the University of Central Florida.  Born into a musical family, he began his musical studies at an early age in Southwest Florida under a melange of accomplished percussionists and musicians. His teachers include Dr. Thad Anderson, Kirk Gay, Jeff Moore, John Evans, Jim Dallas, Lori Lyons, and Dan Miller, as well additional lessons from Joe McCarthy, Jason Marsalis, and Clarence Penn. His teachers have praised his work ethic and dedication and have described him as having “unlimited potential in the music industry.” 

 

Christian is a regularly-booked freelance musician in the Orlando area, and performs with professional symphonies, musical theater companies, independent artists, corporate entertainment companies, and leads his own jazz group: The 239 Collective. Christian is also a member of the Walt Disney World Orchestra, performing at the Candlelight Processional for tens of thousands of guests yearly. In 2023, he was named the Drumset winner for the Yamaha Young Performing Artists Award, a national competition recognizing some of the best up-and-coming musicians in the industry. Active in education, Christian has taught clinics and masterclasses at high schools in the Central Florida area, as well as serving as a Percussion Instructor and Battery Coordinator for Horizon High School in Winter Garden since 2022. In the early stages of his career, Christian is honored to have shared the stage with artists such as Grace Kelly, Michael Cavanaugh, Dan Miller, Lew Delgatto, Chuck Findley, and Jay Miah.
